PLAINFIELD -- Six property sales were recorded in Plainfield during October 2026, with prices ranging from $100,000 to $444,000 among the three transactions for which a sale price has been entered so far, according to Hampshire County Registry of Deeds records.

MARKET OVERVIEW Hampshire County Registry of Deeds recorded six property sales in Plainfield between Oct. 2 and Oct. 31. Three of those sales carry a recorded price: $100,000, $336,000 and $444,000, for a median of $336,000. The other three sales have no price yet recorded, which is typical of deed data and usually reflects a lag of about a week before the registry's consideration figures are entered, not a withheld price. Based on the raw count alone, six sales represents a modest level of activity for a small town like Plainfield.

Separately, the registry recorded four other filings during the period that were not property sales: a nominal-consideration transfer and three administrative instruments. Those are detailed in Market Notes below and are not included in the sales count, price range or median above.

TOP SALES 182 Grant St. sold for $444,000 on Oct. 23, the highest recorded price of the month. Ruth Debrot was the seller; the buyers were Guild Mortgage Co. LLC and MERS.

100 North Union St. sold for $336,000 on Oct. 30. Loredana Holmes was the seller; Eric Jorgensen and Samantha Jorgensen were the buyers.

167 West Hill Rd. sold for $100,000 on Oct. 20. Cheryl A. Sharpe was the seller; Freedom Credit Union was the buyer.

Three additional sales during the month, at 13 North St., 80 River Rd. and 248 South Central St., have no price yet recorded.

NEIGHBORHOOD BREAKDOWN West Hill Road saw two recorded transfers in October: the $100,000 sale at 167 West Hill Rd. to Freedom Credit Union, and a separate nominal-consideration transfer at 37 West Hill Rd. involving Deborah Slaven, acting as personal representative of the Susan C. Donoghue estate, and buyers Deborah Slaven and Lori Reese Deyo.

South Central Street had three recorded filings. One, 248 South Central St., was a sale from TruNorth Bank to William L. and Paula C. Bundy, with the price not yet recorded. The other two, both listed at 334 South Central St. (also recorded as 334 S Central St.), were not sales: an affidavit regarding estate tax and a certificate releasing a Massachusetts estate tax lien, both tied to the Peter Haggart Bumpus estate.

The remaining sales were spread across North Union Street, North Street, Grant Street and River Road, with no other street-level overlap. Among the three sales with a recorded price, all fell under $500,000, from $100,000 to $444,000; no sale with a recorded price exceeded $500,000 this month.

MARKET NOTES Financial institutions appear as either buyer or seller in several of the month's transactions: Freedom Credit Union (167 West Hill Rd.), Guild Mortgage Co. LLC and MERS (182 Grant St.), Greenfield Savings Bank (80 River Rd.) and TruNorth Bank (248 South Central St.). That pattern touches four of the six recorded sales.

The town of Plainfield itself was the seller in one transaction, 13 North St., with the Wade family as buyers; the price has not yet been recorded.

No bedroom, bathroom or square-footage figures were available for any property in this period's deed data, which is standard for registry records.

Four recorded filings during the period were not market sales and are excluded from the sales figures above: a nominal-consideration transfer at 37 West Hill Rd. within the Slaven and Donoghue family; an estate tax affidavit and a lien release certificate, both tied to the Peter Haggart Bumpus estate at 334 South Central St.; and a declaration of homestead filed by Michael W. Madole, individually and as trustee, at 24 South Union St.
