Southampton Soccer Association's fall intramural program remains paused for 2025 amid a volunteer shortage, even as the club's travel teams wrap up tryouts for the season.
SOUTHAMPTON --
YOUTH LEAGUES -- Southampton Soccer Association, marking its 44th year serving the community since its 1981 founding, said its "Fall IM Soccer PAUSED for 2025." The all-volunteer club said it needs additional coaches and commissioners for its U6, U8 and U10 age groups before it can resume registration, citing a decline in available help as families shift to other sports and commitments. Anyone able to volunteer was asked to reach the club via Facebook or at southamptonsoccer@comcast.net.
On the travel side, SSA said tryouts "are now completed" for five squads heading into the season: the 2014 Girls (U13) Sirens Orange, 2014 Girls (U12) Sirens Blue, 2013 Girls (U13) Surge, 2015 Boys (U11) Vikings and 2011 Boys (U15) Kings. The club said the Vikings "are looking to continue to develop and compete at the highest levels" and that the Kings "continue to succeed while playing at the highest levels of competition." Questions about the travel program can be directed to Travel Director Brian Sassano.
Separately, Centennial Baseball Club is accepting sign-ups for its in-house baseball program through its website.
