Southampton Soccer Association pauses fall intramural program for 2025, citing volunteer shortage.

SOUTHAMPTON -- The Southampton Soccer Association announced it has suspended its Fall 2025 intramural soccer season, calling on community members to step up as coaches and commissioners to keep youth programming alive.

**YOUTH LEAGUES**

SSA, which has served Southampton youth ages 4–18 since 1981, said the fall intramural season is on hold as the all-volunteer organization works to recruit help for its U6, U8, and U10 age-group programs. The club noted that families transitioning to other sports and commitments have reduced the pool of available volunteers in recent seasons.

"We welcome any ideas or suggestions on how to best keep the program running," SSA wrote on its website, adding that its primary goal is to preserve these opportunities for community children. Anyone willing to volunteer or with questions can reach the club via Facebook or at southamptonsoccer@comcast.net.

On the travel side, tryouts for the 2025–26 season have been completed. SSA currently fields five travel teams: the 2014 Girls (U13) Sirens Orange, 2014 Girls (U12) Sirens Blue, 2013 Girls (U13) Surge, 2015 Boys (U11) Vikings, and 2011 Boys (U15) Kings. Questions about travel soccer can be directed to Travel Director Brian Sassano.
