Three Amherst youth baseball and softball squads claimed spring 2026 championships, capping the season for Amherst Baseball, Inc. and Hadley-Amherst Softball.

AMHERST -- The Amherst Royals won the 50/70 Frontier League 2026 championship, and the Amherst Koufax Hurricanes took the spring 2026 Western Massachusetts Baseball League title, according to the Amherst Baseball, Inc. website. The Hadley-Amherst 12U Softball squad also claimed the regular-season championship.

YOUTH LEAGUES

The three titles close out the spring season for Amherst Baseball, Inc., which offers youth programs for players ages 4 and up. Teams are open to children who live or attend school in Amherst, Hadley, Pelham, Shutesbury, and Leverett.

The Amherst Hockey Association has opened registration for the 2026-27 season. The Amherst-based association is accepting signups for its coed travel program, its Western Mass Liberty Girls program, and a "Try Hockey for Free" session for new players. AHA co-ed travel teams compete in the Greater Springfield Junior Hockey League; Liberty girls teams play in the New England Girls' Hockey League and the Connecticut Girls Hockey League.
