EASTHAMPTON — The Property Committee recommended Renewal Initiatives for the Old Town Farm lodging house and farmland. Reviewers' scores favored it 17 to 34 over Living Meadow Farms, the lower total winning. A city staff member read terms including a $47,501 sale price, 17 single room occupancy units for households at or below 80 percent of area median income, and a city right of first refusal.
The committee changed a payment-in-lieu-of-taxes term to "at least" 10 percent of taxes otherwise due. Members also recommended two Parsons and Ferry streets land-taking measures, for a Sept. 16 council hearing, and recommended that the full council declare 19 vehicles surplus. Staff said most have more than 400,000 miles, and only about two might sell for over $500.
