AMHERST — The Finance Committee reviewed a general government budget up 3.5 percent for FY27. Presenters said the increase trails the 4.5 percent rise in the overall operating budget because of staff turnover, and that an 8 percent health premium increase did not become an 8 percent budget increase. Planning Director Jeff Begg said the VFW request for proposals is targeted for May.
Building Commissioner Rob Moore reported 1,323 properties and more than 5,600 units in rental registration, and said hiring is hard because "we don't move fast enough." Town Clerk Amber Martin said vital records fees would rise from $10 to $15 on July 1. Facilities staff estimated Wildwood could cost $150,000 to $200,000 in its first year. The committee unanimously delegated minutes review to Vice Chair Lynn Griesemer.
