Southampton Select Board Approves Nine Appointments, Accepts One Resignation

SOUTHAMPTON — June 11, 2026 — Southampton Select Board approves slate of appointments and hears 3.9 evaluation of town administrator. The board, chaired by Christine Fowles, unanimously approved eight reappointments and one new appointment at its June 11 meeting, including Ashley Stone to the Council on Aging Board, Kathy Caputo to the Board of Affordable Housing Trust, and six members to the Senior Center Building Committee. The board also accepted the resignation of Michael Buller from the Greenway Committee and agreed to send him a letter of thanks for his long service. Consultants Jennifer Gilbert and Haley Rivers of Tighe & Bond delivered the town's annual MS4 stormwater compliance presentation, reporting the town is meeting all permit requirements except a best management practice retrofit at Conant Park on Clark Street, where permitting and design are complete but construction has not begun — a situation Rivers called "not atypical" among Massachusetts municipalities. Town Administrator Scott Zybeck received an overall performance score of 3.9 out of 5 across 10 categories, with job knowledge rated highest at 4.6 and time management and teamwork lowest at 3.1 each; the board set eight goals for the coming year, including completing the FY25 audit and resolving legal issues at the Pomeroy Meadow bridge.
