Hadley's Select Board voted to keep a single tax rate for fiscal 2027 after a classification hearing. Presenters estimated the rate at $12.21 per $1,000 and the average single-family bill at $6,235, on a $17,962,180 levy. A split rate at the minimum residential factor would have cut residential taxes 21.8 percent and raised commercial taxes 50 percent.
The board also rejected an open space discount, a residential exemption and a small commercial exemption, and one commenter urged members not to "play with that recipe." Four members voted, with David J. Fill, II absent. The board also appointed Diane Wright as public safety dispatcher and Jessica Amundsen as assistant treasurer and collector.
