Planning Board Continues Two Hearings to Oct. 7
Planning Board · Meeting of September 2, 2026
Southampton Planning Board continues two live hearings to October 7 over a stalled peer review and a zoning bylaw gap. Chair Paul Deeman continued the Manhan LLC hearing on Pleasant Street after Berkshire Design Group's peer review was not finished, with the board voting three in favor and one abstention; Deeman said "we cannot talk about anything going forward on this until the next meeting." Consultant Richard told the board a separate project, KBIP LLC's 38 College Highway site plan, unexpectedly also needs a Zoning Board of Appeals special permit because of an uncaught gap in the town's Water Supply Protection District bylaw language, with the ZBA not meeting until September 23. Fire Chief Rich Basoli signed off on the site's fire-truck turning movements, and the board voted unanimously to continue that hearing as well.
The board separately approved a $1,207.93 payment to the Daily Hampshire Gazette for legal notices and discussed budgeting roughly $10,000 a year for a new peer-review consultant to replace Richard, who is stepping down after next June.
