Commission on Disability · Meeting of May 14, 2026

Easthampton's Commission on Disability weighed a July story hour but made no commitment. Members said the commission has no funding, venue, date or reader, and that the mayor's office cited a spending freeze that bars paying for an ASL interpreter. Chair Angelique Baker said she would try 50 Arrow Gallery once more, and Melanie Nieves agreed to ask about readers by May 21.

Member Bruce Homstead, a clinical dietitian, presented a protein-first breakfast plan, and the commission approved its April minutes. A strategic planning session is set for the June 11 meeting.
