EASTHAMPTON — The Board of Public Works reappointed its DPW director to a three-year term. The 3-0 roll-call vote on Wednesday retained DPW Director Greg, whose surname was not given. The board also reviewed a redline of the water and sewer regulations, last updated in April 2014, including curb-stop obstruction rules and a proposed $150 fee for residents who ignore meter-swap requests.
Greg said about 50 percent of meters are newer Neptune units that report to a collector on the mountain. Members asked him to move rates into an updatable appendix, and the item was continued to the next meeting for final approval. He also reported a $30,000 state grant toward a $65,250 electric van for meter crews.
