Ware Officials Preview 34-Article Town Meeting Warrant for June 8
Town Meeting · Meeting of May 28, 2026
Ware officials preview a 34-article Annual Town Meeting warrant set for June 8 at 6:30 p.m. at Ware High School Auditorium. Select Board member Ken Ouellette, Finance Committee Chair Richard Fly, and Town Manager Stuart Beckley appeared on Ware's public-access TV channel May 28 to walk residents through the meeting's format and content. The warrant covers fiscal year 2026 current-year adjustments, a consent agenda of routine annual items, three budget articles for water, sewer, and municipal operations, roughly a dozen capital articles for vehicles and infrastructure, a charter review, and two legislative-directive articles.
Beckley said the full packet with all dollar figures and board recommendations is targeted for posting to the town website by May 29, with a robocall alert to follow. The town's quorum threshold was recently lowered from 100 to 80 registered voters by the Select Board, though Fly noted attendance has been trending above 100 — and without an approved budget before the July 1 fiscal year start, departments cannot fund services.
