PELHAM — Pelham's Select Board has released the warrant for a Special Town Meeting, giving residents their first look at articles that will come before voters ahead of infrastructure work slated to begin later this month.
TOWN HALL
The Special Town Meeting warrant is now available for review, the town announced Tuesday, though a meeting date was not specified in the posting. Residents can find the full warrant through the town's website.
The town also confirmed that the Sewer Improvement Project affecting Jones Road, Cadwell Street and a portion of South Valley Road will begin at the end of September, and issued a construction alert advising residents to plan for disruptions in that area.
Separately, the town's fall edition of the Slate Newsletter is set for release on September 22, according to the town's News Flash feed. The Board of Registrars also reminded residents that the State Election is scheduled for November 3, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., with voting to take place in the Ramsdell Room at the Community Center, 2 South Valley Road.
The town continues to seek applicants for the open Conservation Commission Agent position, a listing that has been posted since June.
SCHOOLS
Pelham's school calendar shows a busy stretch ahead as the academic year settles in. The district's Board of Education is scheduled to meet Wednesday, September 23, at 7:30 p.m. in the Middle School library, following a Back to School Night the same evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium.
Additional Back to School Night sessions are set for Colonial Elementary on Thursday, September 24, split by grade level: kindergarten through second grade from 6 to 7 p.m., and grades 3 through 5 from 7 to 8 p.m. A PTA meeting follows that evening at 7 p.m. in the Hutchinson Makerspace.
Schools will be closed Monday, September 21, in observance of Yom Kippur, which begins at sundown the day before.
