Parks & Rec. Commission · Meeting of May 13, 2026
Easthampton's Parks and Recreation Commission heard that the mayor's budget would halve pool staff funding. Staff told commissioners the mayor presented two fiscal 2027 budgets last Wednesday, one with an override and one without, and that a two-hour cut for many city positions is proposed either way. Staff said about $160,000 in youth payroll is budgeted for lifeguards and camp, and the goal is a pool open five days a week.
Commissioners discussed field rentals and income-based camp fees, which one member warned could be "harder to reduce" later. The commission approved its prior minutes 5-0 on a roll call and set its next meeting for June 17 at 6 p.m.
