Hadley Public Library rolled out a run of fall programs this week, headlined by a Sept. 25 songwriters showcase pairing local musician Harry Remer with guest artist Bob Chabot. The free show anchors a string of dated library events now on the calendar, even as the library briefed the town's Finance Committee on its fiscal 2027 budget request.

TOWN HALL

Hadley Public Library presented its fiscal 2027 budget request to the town's Finance Committee this week and posted the presentation slides on its website for residents to review as the town's budget season continues.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

Hadley Public Library's "Inside the Song" series returns Friday, Sept. 25, at 8 p.m., featuring singer-songwriter Harry Remer and guest Bob Chabot performing original work and discussing the craft behind it. Remer has performed since the 1990s and released his second album in 2025; Chabot was part of the Songwriters' Exchange in the 1980s and '90s and recorded with Fast Folk Musical Magazine. The free event is supported by a grant from the Hadley Cultural Council, a local agency funded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council and the Friends of Hadley Public Library.

Two other library programs are set for earlier in the week: a felting and visible mending workshop for adults and teens on Monday, Sept. 21, at 4:30 p.m., and "Microplastics: From Source to Solutions," a UMass Science Stories presentation, on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 6 p.m.
