HADLEY — The Hadley Housing Authority voted to require itemized invoices on every future warrant after questioning a $14,088.11 monthly bill from managing agent Amherst Housing Authority. The board approved the September 2026 warrant, totaling $27,990.34, 4-0, then separately voted 3-0 with one abstention to require invoices attached going forward. Executive Director Pamela Rogers recommended the board review invoices and sign checks in person, but commissioners settled on attaching invoices instead.
One commissioner cited a disputed $400 showerhead purchase at the Watertown Housing Authority and said, "I want the invoices attached to the warrant. Because the invoices tell the detail." The board also voted 4-0 to create board member email addresses at $720 a year and voted twice, 4-0 each, to make minutes and policies available in a community room binder and online. Treasurer Rich Witkus attended his final meeting before retiring.
