Hadley Board Splits $2.2M Warrant Into Articles
Select Board · Meeting of September 30, 2026
Hadley Select Board splits $2.2 million capital plan into separate warrant articles for the Oct. 22 special town meeting. Town Administrator Nathan said the capital request, recommended by the Capital Planning Committee, includes $90,000 for a fire department vehicle and $200,000 each for Chapter 90 funds and the Route 47 bridge. Two insurance consultants pitched alternatives to the Hampshire County Group Insurance Trust, with NFP's Mark Rogers warning the trust's 12.4 percent rate increase "is not adequate, frankly," while Maplewood Benefits' Allison called the trust's rates "not out of range of the marketplace." The board unanimously adopted the town's 2026 Hazard Mitigation Plan, appointed Robin Jones to the building inspection department effective Oct. 26, and accepted DPW wastewater operator Matt Davies's resignation.
Resident Anthony Fiden urged the board to rescind roughly $30,000 in opioid-settlement funding for Tapestry Health, citing almost 3,000 syringes distributed with only one referral to substance-use treatment.
