EASTHAMPTON — The Council on Aging learned the override means no cuts to staff hours at the senior center. The director told the board the center stays open Monday through Friday, 8 to 3:30. The Finance Committee recommended no further cuts to the FY27 budget on June 15, and the City Council is scheduled to take it up June 24.
The director said the state formula grant will supplement about $38,000 of salaries, versus $56,000 had the override failed. Building repair and in-state travel funds were eliminated. The board approved the May 19 minutes unanimously and discussed quarterly updates to the City Council, an idea the minutes credit to Patrick Brough.
Members did not vote on a summer schedule and set the next meeting for September 15.
