Conservation panel continues hearing to Aug. 20
Conservation · Meeting of July 29, 2026
Plainfield Conservation Commission continues a wetlands hearing to August 20, declining to pre-approve a project early. Members said they would not sign off on an applicant's revised plans without a completed peer review from retained consultant Rob Levesque's firm, RLA, and without the applicant's wetland scientist, identified only as Rebecca, present to answer questions. "In other words, we approve it without having seen the data," one member said of the applicant's request.
The commission also flagged a state Natural Heritage and Endangered Species Program priority habitat map opening for public comment August 5, and raised concerns, relayed through contact Mark Stinson, that the state's Mass READY Act routes renewable-energy project appeals to the state energy siting board rather than the usual process. Minutes were approved unanimously, as was a motion to adjourn.
