Belchertown Select Board Names Jornet-Kernlens Chair, Miner Vice Chair

BELCHERTOWN — June 4, 2026 — Belchertown Select Board unanimously elects new Chair and Vice Chair in five-minute special meeting. The board voted 4-0 Thursday morning to seat Whitney Jornet-Kernlens as Chair and Nicole Miner as Vice Chair for the coming year, completing two of the three leadership positions on its annual reorganization agenda. A third vote to name John Ritter as Clerk was tabled 4-0 after members noted Ritter was not present and had not formally confirmed his acceptance, with one member invoking Robert's Rules of Order to argue the board should wait. The Clerk nomination is now scheduled for the board's June 15 regular meeting.
